Lucky USA Costco Customers ?

That screen is comically small.

If it's available to play in-store I hope they have someone on hand to resolve any issues as it will be a negative experience otherwise.

Stern

Jurassic Park (Home Edition)

The Jurassic Park Pin is crafted to take you into the world of the hit 1993 film that was directed by Steven Spielberg, but it takes a very different path from the commercial models that were made for arcades. This Home version from Stern includes a new layout for this release, which maintains some similarities to the Pro model of the game, while offering a different route for home buyers to enjoy. Here, you are focused on evacuating dinosaurs and restoring power to the park.

These changes include a ball spitting 3D sculpted T-Rex, the Raptor pit, drop targets, metal and wire ramps, a control orbit gate, ball shooter and auto launch, Newton and captive ball, 2 ricochet target shots, escape Nublar & restore power Wizard modes, 3 different multiballs, CHAOS and DNA spell outs, and the iconic John Williams Jurassic Park music.

It has been available since October 2021.

As nice as it is. It's still overpriced. You may as well buy a second hand Stern which also won't tank in value like this Homepin will.

I think these need to be £4k max but are far more than that once import duties are included. @Gonzo has posted a video on his YouTube channel about this game and I believe there are a few unsold in the UK at distros. I know @Aksmoe mentioned he had a SW home pin and enjoys it. Not to be confused with HomePin 😬

I doubt that many on here would disagree with that but that doesn't mean that their marketing strategy is off track.
Just imagine how big a shop window Costco is to the American population and it isn't hard to imagine that they have an opportunity to shift a lot of units.

It's a really good game actually.

My only concern is the chipboard used in construction which means it can't be used on location but I guess that was never the intention.

However, I'd have it back at the right price because it shoots incredibly well and wasn't a moments trouble.

The screen doesn't bother me because I'm more than happy to play games without a screen and there is enough space for the information which needs displaying.

Agreed that it should really be a £4k pin but anyone who hasn't played it might be pleasantly surprised how much they enjoy it.

Definitely a pinball machine and not a gimmick.

I'd have one although I'd only swap something like WCS for it value wise, no issues with an MDF playfield for me having had one in a 35yr El Pinboto that hadn't warped.

At the risk of being an outcast, I quite liked the playfield.

However, the chipboard on the cabinet seemed like a silly move which I doubt reduced the cost drastically.

I don't think it being fun is in question. But when for a little more you can have a game which is the 'full experience' why bother?

I'm not sure it is a little more these days mate, but it is priced too high. I definitely got the full pinball experience with it though, it's not half a game and screens really don't bother me unless I'm watching someone else play.

Unfortunately for Stern they have a home pin with a T-Rex which eats the ball and is a superior mechanism to the pro's on a lot of their recent games.

I would totally appreciate it if someone purchased one and didn't think the construction of the cabinet was not worth the money. But I don't have a clue why people who didn't spend any money on it or were never going to buy one would get angry with Stern producing it. I'm honestly unconcerned whether it's produced or indeed which shop the company decide to sell it in.

No pinball machine is good value, they're all massive overpriced. But for me, Venom pro at 7.5-8k is worse.

But I would agree that if I had £5k and it was a choice between a JP Pro or Home edition, I'd go with the Elwin game.
