If you own a LOTR pinball then you will know that there is a bad flaw in the game design and that is that when the ball exits the Path of the Dead the ball drops onto the "Arwen" plastic before bouncing into the Mystery / Hobbit hole . Unprotected it will not take long before your Arwen plastic is smashed to pieces and the only way to replace it is to buy a full plastics set which is VERY expensive and that's providing you can find someone who has a set for sale .

A good friend of mine has the rights to reproduce these, as most of you may know the first run sold out stright away and no more where available until now.

This second run have been made much stronger than the first, please see enclosed pictures.

I am thinking of doing a bulk buy on these to save on postage costs and have been given a discount of $5 Aus dollars per protector. The price for one is $45 Aus dollars which is roughly around £30 Postage will depend on how many people want one.

If you are interested please let me know then I can see if it will be worth doing a bulk buy on the protector.

Currently got the divertor that sticks the ball back onto the habit rail (my bloody plastic smashed 3 days after buying the machine - grrrr!). Is there any difference in terms of score if the ball goes into the Hobbit hole first?

Might be tempted by one of these as I like the design. Kind of also enjoying the irony that in the picture it's protecting the non-Arwen design (spent over £100 on repalcement plastics to discover they had changed the design - double grrrr!)

I am fortunate as a previous owner had already fitted one of these protectors to my machine. Every routed LOTR machine I have seen has had the Arwen plastic smashed by this flaw in the design of a otherwise great pin.

John, by diverting the ball onto the habit rail instead of dropping into the Hobbiton VUK you won't collect the additional souls that each visit to Hobbiton would give you after traversing the POTD. The first visit to Hobbiton will give you 250 [Edit, not 300] souls, with an additional 50 souls for each visit. This soon mounts up during a long game, allowing you to reach the ROTK multiball quicker, by collecting the 5000 souls needed. Sounds very ghoulish doesn't it?

count me in, although like the pic, it will probably end up protecting the non-arwen version! (still waiting for a scan of that)

I'll see if I can get you a decent scan of this today.

Did anything happen about these, or do I need to just order myself one ...

Sorry for not getting back to you on this I was expecting to have had a lot more interest as I needed at least ten for it to be worth doing. I only ended up with five people showing interest which I thought I would have had a lot more. Sorry once again for not updating you all on this.

D.

no worries - do you happen to have a link to where we can get them from ?
