Two games that have always got a huge amount of games out of me are EATPM and Jokerz.

EATPM because it's a 1 or 2 trick pony with satisfying shot completion. Spelling Elvira and one off jackpots and the 3 ball multiball requiring the left/right ramp are my all time favourite things to shoot for. I played that game religiously for several years and I wouldn't mind a similar experience on a similar game.

Jokerz, because it's almost a 0 trick pony. Once you've made the jackpot once it's not worthing pumping it up again. The game becomes a kind of meditative grind where you're just farming the top roll over lanes and triggering the point multipliers. I haven't played many if any EM games, but I suspect it harkens back to that kind of gameplay, but I've no desire for drain hungry older games with gentle inclines and floaty gameplay.

Only other real stipulation is two flippers and the less 'game modes' the better.

If anyone has any good recommendations for weird or wonderful games which share traits with the aforementioned, would appreciate it.

It’s not “weird or wonderful”, but Bride of Pinbot is pretty close to a one-shot game.

Loads of EMs and early SS pins can be reduced to “light spinner, rip spinner” if you want to

Fish Tales. Lots around. Simple mechanics/ easy to maintain. Not that expensive for a wpc.

Casters club x3 = multiball

Casters club to prime jackpot

Left orbit to score jackpot

Three jackpots lights the super jackpot

Captive ball gets you repeated supers

I think quite a few System 11 games would work for you. Space Station for example has a relatively straightforward ruleset and one main mission - lock/dock a few balls to start the awesome Condition Green multiball , then redock them for Jackpots, rinse repeat. Addictive as hell because the presentation is perfect .

Shout out to Special Force , firing virtual rockets to take out drops using the extra flipper buttons and the inline drops area for multiball kept me amused for hours 💥

What I am reading from you, you want a fun game that is simple to play. You do not want a 'deep game'
Sega's and Data East machines are usually simpler than Bally/Williams was at the time.
I would even suggest some early Bally/Williams DMD era games. Creature From The Black Lagoon, more complicated than your two machines, but the tasks are obvious, and is fun to play
