I wouldn't think that the molding lock (as I know it) was specifically for solid-state games, it's quite likely that Williams e/m games had the same one. It was altered during the Wpc era, I think; the shape of the lever, as in the picture above. And it gained a return spring at some point around then, too. Williams must've worked out that was more economic than adding a bit of metal to the doors of games with a C220 electronic acceptor, to prevent the door closing if the lock lever was open.
