So - Anyone any advice on how to give the white backboard which holds all the lamps a bit of a spruce up? I have a rattle can ready to rock and roll, however there has to be an easier way than either stripping all the lights out, OR Putting bits of tissue in each one when respraying....

you lazy bugger

try covering each bulb with a thing. like a ... i dunno, a thing of some kind. like a half a quail egg shell or something like that.

Use foam to protect the light holders if you can;t be ****d stripping it all down.
As above.

have you tried to clean it up with a bleach-based product like Flash?

I've never had to spray mine as they come up like new even with 1/2 thick crud/nicotine/filth etc.

Been there, done that! Cleaning got mine 99% of the way there. I removed all the light holders. Used a socket and a hammer to tap them out. Then sanded, then sprayed with white primer (best matt white I could find). Also clearcoated the bsck side of the board. Looks ok. Can't say I'd bother again though!

I cant foam these as they come right through. So hopefully I'll knock all the light holders back through, newspaper over the tops and then spray the board... Pics to follow (Hopefully!!!)
