Having used one of these previously in LOTR, I highly recommend using them, especially in whitestar era games

not intending to upset tyke's sale thread - but this is why i hate LEDs, to make them work properly you need to buy another board for a hundred quid plus, otherwise they just ghost and flicker and act up.
Never had that issue with the old bally/williams games with one of @Paul special roms in but modern Stern games that don't have LEDs already seem to suffer more. Especially a game like LOTR that has some really nice fading effect using lamps that I love, so I held off putting LED's in mine until I could get this board to go with it. I was going to ship one from the US but this saved the hassle
Not necessarily Dan, the OCD board adds fading effects to LEDs that they couldn't do otherwise, personal choice and all. LOTR is a machine that benefits more than most from it
