JP2 Pop bumper "one way" gate survey

Been watching a couple of Deadflips JP2 streams and noticed that his ball never comes back out the pops through the one way gate.
I know it's allegedly been designed so that it can come back through the gate if there is a lot of activity in the pops, but I would say at least 75% of mine come out that way instead of feeding the upper flipper.
Just wondering how everyone else's machine is set up?
Does anyone else get this amount back through the gate?
Has anyone modded theirs to reduce this amount?
If so, how have they modded theirs?
Thanks

I'm wondering if it's the amount of spring tension on the gate that is allowing it to pop back up so high, so frequently.
Are people's gates as highly sprung as this?15976619914618233355747606012820.jpg15976620493742854544683707362215.jpg

Pics of mine. Keith did has said that it was originally designed with a sprung one-way gate, but the ball would often get stuck passing through it the 'right' way - so to stop that they removed the sprung gate and replaced with what we currently have.
I'm certain the "it was designed that way to keep you on your toes" comment, was made tongue in cheek and a cop out.

There's actually no need to drill the used leaf switch at all, as the one I used had a hole in exactly the right place. Just needed to cut it to length.

Bending it over slightly means that you can adjust the tension on the gate. The ideal is that there is enough tension that the ball only just passes through, but not enough that the gate traps the ball. It certainly improves the play - and in this case can definitely be said to return the game to how the designer intended it to play.

@Gonzo …… Now they tell you ……… 😃

I'm afraid I can't blame that on my low scores 😂

For me it's basically a one way gate which let's through on accession. 95% of the time it feeds the flippers.

I won't be tampering with it at all. I'm not sure if it's doing precisely what it's intended to do but I like it anyway.

Think I’d need a one way gate that stopped the Nedry outlane to improve my scores :p
That being said, the pops are getting leafed!!
Had approx 10 games today and one 3 times did it feed out to the upper flipper
