I know there is a for sale/wanted thread, but is there a place for where you can offer your machines for loan?

I think there are quite a few of us with more machines than spaces to put them in...

Just finished a loan with another Forum member. Worked out great for me as I got to play their Star Wars for a few months.:) Would be good to have a more formal thread for these things.

I am the custodian of a couple of machines on loan and will hopefully be getting a few more. My machines have been loaned to others too.
Loans are a personal thing though, I might buy a pin or sell one to anyone one but would feel odd about a loan to complete strangers so I don't think this would be a first come, first served sort of thread. ;)

What do we need? DO people think they can be another heading in the For Sale/Wanted/Trade (Loans) section or would a new section be better?

I think this is a good idea in theory, but would it open some opportunity for a scammer? My gut feel is I'd tend towards Geoff's view with my own machines - it'd be a personal thing for me, with people I knew and trusted. But the idea of something to help loans / temporary swaps is a great idea overall I think.

I have a line up of 3 machines currently and looking to fill the last space. A loaner would be excellent. Be well cared for !!

lets do this guys.

I have 6 on loan to me ,the way I see it is that I give them room to either get another pin to enjoy or keep the mrs of their backs,in return I've been v kindly loaned some of the top titles in pinball which I have had time to play and used to host Legue meets so all get to play and enjoy:clap::thumbs:

Same here, space loaner for two machines currently but unfortunately, a full room now. Works well for both..... well, until you need that space back...

Dave has been a great baby sitter for my tron le and x men le maybe coming his way soon
i would be happy to loan pins to group members local to me who i know i can trust
i would defo NOT loan a pin to somebody i dont know

I have too other pins i would be happy to loan if there is any group members local i know who would be willing to collect and bring back when i need them

Ironically Nigel's Haunted House was one of the first I loaned when SWL started.... It was suppose to help me put the one I have back together... 4 years on and I now have a decent playfield for it!

Instead of advertising a machine to loan, advertise the space. That way the person with the machine can decide if they want to approach the person with the space.

This is probably the way to go.

If I advertise I have space available anyone looking to free up some space can decide whether I'm suitably trustworthy to not sell/ wreck/ use as a hamster cage their machine and get in touch to sort out arangements for a loan.

I would still expect to be allowed to veto my housing a Shadow though ;)

I have space available if anyone is looking to free up some space.

Have room for 1 more machine :) will collect :D

I have no space for my own, and the no space I have is taken up with other addicts games ......... but still if anyone wants to dump something in the GrizZ Shack then let me know.
same here, i am always happy to look after someone's game, whether i have space for it or not

What's wrong with Shadow!?

Its just never been fun to play for me on the admittedly few occasions I've played it at shows. On the other hand I quite liked Popeye when i played it at a recent show, so maybe I'm just odd.

On reflection though, perhaps a short term loan of a previously unpopular machine would be the best way to find out its actually a lot better than you thought...

I had a Shadow on loan for a couple of months & I was very glad to have had it as a loan - heard so much good about it from so many people had often thought about buying one...however, I now know I have no interest in owning one.
Can't put my finger on it exactly, but found it very dull  Final Battle is a good wizard mode though, reasonably hard to get to & quite difficult to complete, so actually feels rewarding for doing it.

I also made the mistake of watching the film thinking it might enhance my enjoyment of the game - it's so bad, if anything it put me off playing the machine!
Made me feel really sorry for the game developers, as I bet they had to watch that ****e dozens of times whilst making the pin.

Regards,
Dan.
