Hi all.
So a large local pub has provisionaly agreed to site my Ironman at £1 play £2 for 3 at a 50/50 profit split.
I am friendly with the landlord, and the game has been restored by myself and proved itself reliable after being hammered at the last couple shows without glitch so hopefully it will run smoothly.
I did operate a few machines back in the day on our local funfair but that was long ago when they were worth a few hundred at most, I am conscious that I am loaning out a £4k machine here. I am keen to do this as the extra few pennies it may give would be very welcome, given my tough work situation, and it would be great to have a pinball back in public access in Southport, more exposure makes more future pinheads We once had many in our arcades but sadly no more, being a seaside town I am sure there must be many others around my age that enjoyed a game way back when who think it died years ago, when in actual fact, the community is thriving.
I know I am mates with the landlord, and I have thought through but can I ask advise on this re security etc.
Cheers, Andy 😊

Nice. The 50/50 split is very generous though in my opinion. You'll be paying for repairs and fuel just to visit the machine. My understanding is that 50/50 splits are a thing of the past these days

Don't forget to get it PAT tested and public liability insurance.
Best way of splitting is first £100 goes to you, the remaining is split 50/50.

Its 50 50 split of the profits, although I would hope it shouldn't need much doing as i did the full works on it only last year. Any repairs, unless serious board faults I can likely do myself, fuel is nothing as its walking distance from home, and I go there most weekends for karaoke nights. The insurance is something I need to discuss with the landlord, as I obv dont have any other than fire/loss protection for games at home and cabin. As for the PAT test, wouldn't it still be covered til August from last years Daventry/Nerg?

For the PAT test it should have a sticker on it with the expiry date I believe, everything Ive seen IT based has a sticker on it.

It may have been PAT tested at Pinfest but may not have been officially recorded and stickered/certificated.

I had assumed it had a sticker on after being tested. But if not needs to be tested and signed off.

More pinball on location is always a great thing - make sure to add it to Pinball Map :)

Interested to know if anyone here has any recommendations for public liability insurers, and can share costs so we know what's reasonable?
