A comment from the yahoo group in reference to The Simpsons pinball on ebay:
A friend bought a WW off them recently, described as excellent condition, fully stripped, lamped and rubbered.......
When I collected, it was not only cheap, but fully LED'd. cleaned to an inch of its life, new rubbers, balls, even a manual and spares pack included...New legs, levellers, bolts, etc.
I think the issue (apparently) was with one of the guys working there, who's now left. The guy who owns it has taken the reigns, and I can only say that perhaps people should actually go and view what these guys have. The "museum" they have at their place is absolutely amazing - hundreds of machines, retored to the highest standards.
I don't see anyone else offering a buy back guarantee on sales - and the link clearly invites people to come and play (NOT sold "as - is" no testing!! But sold "as-is" but inviting you to come and see and play first to see that what your getting is what is being advertised..... And who can blame them selling a 30 year old machine as is????)
The site says they charge £10 for people to come and play machines. Some people went mental over this. Well, I was there about 7 hours playing and talking. If everyone did this, they'd never get anything done. I think the £10 charge is a way to get serious folk to the showroom, interested in buying games - and the £10 is refunded against the cost of your game! Seems a totally reasonable way to me - I was there 7 hours and had drinks, snacks and hospitality provided throughout.
Sometimes it amazes me the way some people are treated on here. Ok, some people may have had a bad experience - but then this can happen easily through differences of opinion. The stories are often from people that "heard" that their mates brother sisters dogs uncle bought a game, and there was a lamp out. Ridiculous. (ok, no need for everyone to write in with their bad experience stories - obviously there will be some, but then how many of these stories do we not here of the great condition games?).
My experience of the WW I fetched, and the showroom is one of total amazement. The costs involved of the staff, heating and lighting alone is more than anyone else I know - and the table was a steal.
Just my thoughts. And it's true to say I was worried about all the stories I'd heard from other people before I went. But now I know the truth. It's a shame other people aren't prepared to make the trip and find out for themselves that half of these stories are probably all a load of sh*t.

I must admit a few of there machines have caught my eye on ebay, but the research from websites does put me off.
