Bought some interior side art for WH20 many months ago ….so I prob should actually fit them .

I’ve not used the wet method before but this guy did (video) - is this the way to go ? It looks doable but a bit of a faff . I don’t want to wreck these things .

I only ever installed 1 set on a game before ,a few years ago ,and I used the position with tape then peel and stick method . Which was ok but fiddly too.

Taking playfield out would obvs make life easier but not sure I can be bothered with all that 😁

Top tips for a cack handed pin monkey please

More or less, it helps folding it around the playfield for initial positioning without it getting stuck everywhere.

I have only done one, Dirty Harry. Got one my sons to help as didn't fancy messing it up, my advice get someone to help as no chance of messing up then😎
…no chance of messing up & you add a Stevie Wonder emoji 😂

I tried installing side art on MM without removing the PF. Would’ve been quicker to burn four twenty pound notes, total pig’s ear.
Gone for mirror blades on this tart up.

Never found it too bad, sod taking the playfield out.

Secure with masking tape, making sure the rear half is well secured and can't move.

Pull the front third away from the cab and peel the backing away, start sticking the art working forwards, smoothing with your hand.

Do the it the same way for the rear half, with the playfield raised at first then lowered then raised again, just be very careful not to catch the artwork.

Yeah that’s kind of how I did it before - and it went ….. ok.

Was just wondering on pros/cons of this wet method

Knowing me I’ll prob just shelve them and not even bother if it feels like too much hassle 😅 Bought some stuff for my TZ 2 years ago . Still sat in a box 😅

Not sure about the wet method on a perpendicular face of mostly untreated wooden board. If it is non-soaking it works really well.

Having it wet reduces the tackiness temporarily so you can reposition, pretty common method when doing full side art, don't see any issue with doing the same thing with the inside..... maybe leave the glass off for a bit to make sure any moisture has dried out fully?

Definitely a 2 man job. Wiggle the raised playfield over to the other side of the cab as far as it will go. Get a mate to hold the pinblade in place with two hands while you position it . Then once it's on the right spot, peel off a chunk of the back paper and smooth the pinblade out. They're normally sticky enough to have a few goes if you F it up

I take the playfield out but I’ve only done it on modern sterns and it’s super simple on them. Guessing it’s more connectors on older games

Yeah. Did it dry myself one time on another game .

Was wondering if anyone here uses the wet method , and was it better/easier as a solo job. A sentence that sounds so wrong 😅
