Inserts - LED Bulb Colours

Hi All,

Interested to hear what colour LED bulbs people use when populating their playfield inserts.

Do you colour match the insert and Bulb (e.g. Orange insert gets orange bulb, green gets green etc...), or do you just go for all clear bulbs, no matter the colour of the insert?

Depends I think.
My addams has all clear one.
The Elektra I had I matched them with the colour on the backglass - which I think I will do with Gorgar.

I think from memory it's best to avoid using yellow/orange bulbs in yellow/orange inserts as they aren't very bright, use warm white instead.

As above.

It’s really up to you, but I use warm or ‘sunlight’ white in most inserts, with the frosted lens, unless I want the colour to be more saturated then use I that colour ie red LED behind red insert lens, purple behind purple, green behind green etc. avoid Yellow LEDs unless you need some some topside, like the sandman battle modes on SpiderMan, in which case use frosted Lens to avoid it being to bright.

I go for comets only cool white in gi is the most bright it’s not everyone s cup of tea as it’s very clinical look
For inserts non ghosting comets are a must I colour match blue red purple and green
I use white for yellows amber orange and cyan

100% this. It shouldn’t work, but it does.

Definitely good to know - there is quite a bit of orange in the KISS I am refurbing. Thank you!
