Anyone have any tips on importing a machine from the US?
Couriers / costs / sea or air etc

Sea £400-700 plus vat (shipping and machine value)
Air £600-1300 plus vat (shipping and machine value)

Only some pins can be converted to work here. What are you looking at importing?

Thanks for that info - any particular companies you recommend? What does the “shipping and machine value” comment mean?

I’m looking at one of the modern Stern machines - Godzilla, Avengers, or something similar. What’s the conversion required - I thought they all worked anywhere?

Thanks

Modern Stern’s don’t work in the UK - they detect the voltage is incorrect, display a message stating as much and won’t boot up. I believe there is a board you can buy as a workaround though.

Once you’ve taken into account shipping and VAT along with the above it really doesn’t make sense to import from the States. Much better to buy from @philpalmer at Pinball Heaven if going NIB, or waiting for the game to come up for sale on here if you want one on the secondary market.

I think it’s actually the frequency the hardware detects and locks out UK frequency on US machines.

Agree with the above just buy a UK machine.
