Hi,
I've come across a site called PinballmachineCentre .com and wondered if anyone had bought from this company and can recommend.
I also wonder if there would be import duty or VAT etc to pay on a second hand machine sold by them.
As a rough guide, a pinball costing 6,800 Dollars, plus shipping 400 Dollars, how much extra roughly would I pay on top of this £5,700 ?

Have you got a link to the site as I thought pinball centre was a European site, nseem to remember there being a dodgy one in the past.

There was a list or known bad sites over on pinside

Yes apologies, I've ammended the address as I initially got it wrong.
This is the link. Thanks.

Wow thanks very much for pointing this out! The site looks professional, good choice of machines. How can they still be allowed to trade! Glad I'm a member on this forum, nice to have people you can ask!

Check out the pinside thread there's loads of them, no idea why they don't get closed down.

Usually it's just a site copied from a legitimate seller and some details changed to make it look legit.

Even if it was legitimate it sounds like a complete headache importing a machine, with a lot of risk, and how much are you really saving?
Pretty easy to import and export, providing the person you’re dealing with knows what they are doing.

How much you save depends on the title, you could save about 10 grand on a Bond 60th buying from the states.

Just a side note on importing from most places now Germany being one of the many you’ll struggle to find a delivery company that will ship to a home address as they require commercial b2b invoices I’ve seen it cause a lot of issues for people
Small parcels will be fine most of the time but anything large or palletised won’t be unless you can use the like of dhl freight who will charge a hefty price
We do offer an import and export service if anyone ever needs to use it

Also vat on duty if they decide it liable. Yes they tax the tax!
Also freight is the volume I.e. the freight they can fit in that space so a pin can be charged for 1/2 ton especially if air freighted.

Well if you can't get the machine you want and one is available elsewhere, I would look into it, hence this group question. If others had a good experience I would have considered it...

Main reason I asked was not to save money. It was the only place I could find the machine I was searching for... :)

I think if you get the correct tax code applied then there is no duty due on used machines, there was a discussion about it years ago on the UKVAC forum.
Yeah, there's no duty on new or used machine imports (the commodity code pins fall under is 0% duty), but there is import vat @20% on both though.

Why not do both!? 😂

I was replying mostly to Marvello above me as there are savings to be had it just depends mostly on which title/game it is but as you say if you can’t source a game in the U.K. importing is really the only option.

I have done a little of both and it’s been super easy and smooth but the guys at the other end where ace.
