Yep if that's not a scam ill show my **** in Tesco window! ,it fantastically worded and the usual off the peg pic.............. Stay clear

He's not responded to my request to come and see it.

I'm tempted to play his game, get a new email address and eBay account, win it at any cost, then see what happens next. What's he gonna do?

Win it and pay with paypal as they can say what they want but ebay insists paypal must be accepted :p I would bid but I don't want a Simpsons pin especially one that doesn't exist :nono:

Lets get as many people to ask to see it as we can,and photos inside and out bet it disappears quick!

Yeah but if I went down that route it would not be so I could send any funds.
When I asked to see it, I also said I was mad keen and wanted him to reserve it for me and could he tell me the payment details do I could send a deposit of £500 to reserve it and show I was legit.

I was expecting a bite from that one but no.

There was a TSPP listed on gumtree a few months ago for 1k. Same 'bank transfer only', generic photo, obvious scam. We banded a few emails back and forth until I mentioned I only lived 30 mins away, I'd bring cash and take it there and then... but then the story changed to how it was in storage, and he was working away abroad for a few months...

The best way to prove its a scam is to take a section of text and google search it. Scammers are lazy/unedumacated and tend to copy spelling mistakes and all. Google search for

Cabinet & Backbox in verry good condition, minor signs of use, scratch at the right side and at the buttons wears.

and the last link on the first page takes you to a page at http://www.pauls50s.de (which has since been updated, but the google cache shows a word for word copy of the ebay listing)

edit - Here it is, listed on ebay.de back in May : http://www.ebay.de/itm/THE-SIMPSONS-PINBALL-PARTY-Stern-Flipper-/360454423941

At least two of us here have reported this to Ebay as a scam to try and get it pulled, hopefully saving someone their cash. The lazy tw*ts have done nothing so far....

Oh you cynical, cyncial people...

I'm going to take a punt using some of the money that will be deposited into my account from the family of a General in Iraq (tragically killed in the recent conflict and his family need to get $5 million out of the country and contacted me due to my financial wisdom). Need to get out anyway as a couple of stunning women from Russia have been emailing me (really surprised but it turns out that they both saw my online profile and I'm just their type - who would have thought it. Hold on, maybe I should check my email in case I need any mail order meds for when we meet up, wouldn't like to disappoint them)

I think the real mystery here is how a machine has appeared on ebay and none of us are accusing anyone of shill bidding :boink:

It's just ended at £4100 ;) I managed to get a bite on my message and have replied but then noticed the auction had finished.....not expecting to hear anything back.

winner (if thats an appropriate phrase) has zero feedback, if he pays what a sh1t welcome to epay

The Jamma+ boys wanted to make sure no innocent "real" bidders ended up getting scammed so shilled it up sky high.

The only problem is everyone will be listing simspsons on ebay at £4000 now claiming it is a BARGAIN as the last one sold for £4100 ;) lol

Odd isn't it, how shilling is now used by the community to stop a scam rather than by the scammers to rip people off.

I expect enough people mailed ebay to say that the item and seller was suspicious. Now what happens with the fake bid, do they fail to pay and it gets offered down the list?
If we have enough people around "London, London", we could get one of us to go with the 'intention' to collect it, though I doubt it is in the area. Then we can see what it is really like. If it is in the North London area, I could go in a Nissan Micra, which it obviously wont fit in even cut in half, and then apologise and walk away.

You only have to read the bad English in their update comment to know where this originates.
