So a few weeks ago I had organised a trip to Nicks,to say hi and shoot some games on XMen and AC/DC.
But as it ended up being I drove to Chester Petes yesterday to pick up a Defender pin to drop off at Nicks for TV's Mr Barber. To add to that Jim also dropped off an Aerobatics backbox, playfield, bottom board, plastics etc.
It all fitted in nicely in my trusty pin hauler - a Honda Jazz (yes it is small but like a fricken tardis:bounce
Then when I was there,Phil gave me a Vector pin to take back to Jim Bibbys - a bit of a detour but Jim did give me 6 different real ales!
Then, noticed an old electrical test sticker on the Vector. It said Deeside Electrical - who were actually based where I live in Buckley - mad coincidence:spy:.
Must be a while ago as it was the old 0244 code, not 01244
Plus I have to comment on the games.
Must have at least 75 games plus on AC/DC now - and all I can say it gets better and better - a truly killer game. The sound, speech calls, good music, brilliant light show, great rules make this a really great game.Maybe I should sell MM to fund one :eyebrows:
I am a casual fan of AC/DC not a hardcore fan,so it is not just the theme.TBH I do not like the lower pf,tho that is the only negative - well that and the naff "dancing band":tsk:
Very good ruleset, challenging and deffo has the "just one more game vibe" about it.
XMEN - prob had 30 or so games on it -this was an LE version - I only found time to have a go and a half at the NLP on the pro one there,so cannot compare too much.
From what I have played so far,I REALLY like this game. With my newish Stern games I like,it took a fair few go's to know I liked em(games like SM and FG).
Whereas with XM I knew within about 10 go's it was for me.Ignoring the bling, the main differences between normal and LE are spinning disk,Nightcrawlers and moving ramp.
TBH wouldn't really miss the nightcrawlers, spinning disk is cool and ramp - not sure - at times it moving around just gets in my way.
I still don't fully get all the modes, but it is still great fun,and very challenging. There are a LOT of shots, and ones such as the Xavier shot are not easy - but rewarding.
Found it a tough game. Not brutal like IM throwing the ball down the drain, but with regards to how many shots to complete modes, and the time to get them.
This game is just gonna get better and better each software release and I look forward to playing it some more.
This game really does rock:rockon:-apart from the terrible overly huge Toys!Did not do well - best was 18 million,as was MR Goslings best score too.
In the hyperthetical which one would I buy question that would be very tough indeed - ignoring the fact pins IMO are ridiculous prices (£2k up on a few years ago).
XM may just nudge it - mainly due to the deciding fact my son LOVES Marvel Comics, but either would be a great addition to any pin collection. These are up here,play/fun wise with the best Bally / Wms titles.they are as good as other Sterns like LOTR and SM
