How to install Stern Side Blades??

Where is the starting point and do i follow the top edge ?

Top edge, yes. Tape them in place first so you know nothing is going to impede their placement. You don't want to get to the last part and realise there is something in the way.

thanks guys and yes the bolt hole is good point to work from - Forgot about that

show you later if i’ve made an expensive mistake or not
 
Couple of things.

Remove playfield. Makes it a lot easier than with PF in.

I do not know who else does this - but I always put the cut out back in the hole when the side blades are on. Looks much better, and lets face it - you rarely (if ever) remove the backbox bolts.

Step 3 & 4

i found completely removing the backing and then having it taped on the side was the easiest method. this allowed me to hold both ends taught and position the hole over the bolt then affix the bolt end slightly and line up the edging. Once correct i could firm up from the top to the bottom and pull out the backing. Without the backing draped over it kept sticking to the side and i couldn’t adjust

Game on !

( what are the plastic tabs for in the bag that came with the machine ? )

Oh really ! well they can go in the bin then.

Thanks for the tips , I ended up redoing the first side as it was ever so not straight and the missis just laughed but i knew it would bug me forever so out everything came again…..
