How bad we are at turtles in one photo

I had perfect plays on my JP2, the post ones didn't last very long. I like them for flippers and slings but probably wont use them for other parts again. Maybe I'm just terrible at JP though!

This is the first time I've seen perfect play post rubbers wear like that. I've got them on my other pins and they haven't worn in nearly a year.

I wonder if it's the thinner stern style ones or the fact they are closer to the flippers on Turtles so get a battering.

What coloured post rubbers do you use instead?

Oh! So I am just rubbish lol I just put the stock black post rubbers back on for now as they hadn't been used at all. I tried Titan and Superband flipper rubbers to see if I wanted to switch all the rubbers to them but I didn't like them as much. The Superbands looked like they would last the longest but they were my least favourite on the flippers and they have a different look to the perfectplays so I didn't want to mix and match. The Titans are a closer match but are still not the same shade as the Perfectplays if you go for all green. I might try clear Titan posts maybe...

I have heard of people using a different type for their posts. I don't like how solid the stern ones are, but i suppose that's why they last.

It might be a stern thing if yours wore out on JP. The rubbers seem thinner than the standard post rubbers on most other pins.

I think i prefer perfect play overall, i believe they're similiar to Titans, but not as grippy as superbands, as close as traditional you can get without using traditional rubbers.

Best colour and lasts forever is Black 😂
Joking aside I have some 10-20 yr black post rubbers that must have been made with elephant hide or summit as you can’t seem to damage em whatsoever.
I still put them on my refurbs as in a HUO environment they will never wear out.

However even my original TMNT ones look to have taken some hammer so maybe it’s a geometry or distance thing like you say.

Yeah I was surprised how hard the stern ones were when I put them on, I had to check the ones on my turtles to make sure I was putting on the right thing! (Phil Docker put all the PerfectPlays on for me when it was new, so I didn't know they were like that)

Grabbed one of each post so you can see them next to each other for colour difference. The Superbands are the thickest and I think that material lasts longer (right) the Titan's are tapered ones so a bit thicker on one end (middle) and the PerfectPlays (left) are definitely the thinnest and have the least resistance when I squish them between my fingers, which is totally an acceptable technical way to test them.

I didn't know you could get superbands for posts, can you get them in the UK?

I've bought superband post rubbers from @pinballmania although they don't show on the website, shoot him a message. They're much harder wearing than the perfect play ones which are pretty much useless.
Yeah it does feel like this is Perfect Play just not being very good, rather than us being bad! We've not had them on long... I'd expect / hope for them to last for a while!

A few weeks 🙁. I've just fitted a load to my LOTR

Depends how bad you are😂

I think the material perfect play rubbers use isn't suited to the thin stern post rubbers. If they aren't too close to the flippers you'll be ok.
Turtles is FAST and those posts are close to t he flippers so they get battered!

I told you that perfect play stuff was a load of old rubbish.
I've used them for over a year now and they're OK on the other pins. I'll probably try some titans for turtles, the posts at least.
I've not changed anything else on it.. Yet
