I think people are confused what a real Hologram is and just some spinning leds are
You can buy those led fan things off AliExpress for like £10

Thanks for that. I hadn’t spotted it. Not sure how to power it off the machine and also whether that number of LED’S (224) would creat an image similar or better than the one in the States. I see they do another one (510 LED’s) so it’s probably the more the merrier?

The smaller one talks about 12v? But comes with a power supply that is a separate plug, maybe it could be wired into something like @myPinballs power mod?

I’m sure I remember reading somewhere that the unit runs quite loud and the service by the people that make them was questionable.

I picked up one of the fans for Halloween. Looks good but the software needed to change images was all in Chinese so I’ve never bothered to work out how to write the sd card for it
The effect it gives is pretty good but you would want it way above head height to avoid nasty accidents.

Thanks John. I presume it was the eBay one you bought, not from the States?

Yup. Just a bog standard one from eBay. Comes preloaded with some crappy adverts for coke etc.
I suspect the SD is pretty easy to change provided you can steal the images from the internet. Let me know if you find a stash.
The “official” topper versions seem very expensive for what it consists of.
