Hi,

I'm sure many of you have owned a hobbit or might even still have one.

I picked one up the other day and there a couple of niggles I need some guidance on

Firstly I will start with the positive, it appears the shooter rod launcher factory default is green tension. I rebuilt my shooter with a custom rod I picked up green and blue as it wasn't clear in the instructions what it should be, the manual says brown. I put a green one in the same as was on it, it was clear it's never been changed. I found it impossible to get any of the lower playfield skill shots and the dwarf most of the time never.

Changed the spring to blue now can get all skill shots ( at least have a chance now!). I would strongly recommend if you own one to change this to blue.

My questions:

I'm noticing a lot of air balls is this normal?

What pitch should it be at, no indication in the instructions and bubble on mine?

The top right flipper, what is the point of it, what should you be able to shoot with it? Mine looks slightly out of alignment based upon the guidance hole. I will fix when I do a shop on it, but waiting for some parts

Thanke

Mine is at 6.5. I get a lot of airballs, but mainly from the ramp steel flaps that have the original flaps, not the newer blued version. I have them ready to fit , just trying to find some one with the rivet tools to help me rather than spend on the tools when I’ll only ever use them once

Thanks. Wasn't sure if it's set up or just the way the machine is

Have you done the power upgrade thing? Debating it for mine, I think it’ll help the ramp shots, especially if you’re back handing them. Not sure on the right flipper, I can make the drop targets but definitely not a ramp shot

No, if I keep it for any length of time I might. Although I've never had a problem with the jersey jack flipper feel

Yeh the top right flipper only seems to be to hit the drop targets, I doubt upgrading the caps will make any difference for that. An upgraded coil might, but then I don't know what the designer was intending

I had The Hobbit and yes lots of air balls. I think this game should have been in a normal size cabinet.

You should be able to make one of the ramps from the third flipper.

Oh and pitch at 6,8.

Thanks.

I can't make any of the ramps from the third flipper, no chance 🤣

Il try a bit higher pitch, I'm planning to rebuild the flippers.

If I remember, you can hit the left ramp.

It’s a great game, but I just found it too floaty.
I'm undecided yet, my kid loves it which is a first for any machine I've owned, which means regardless of my feelings towards it it's staying

I think once I've given it a full polish il start to enjoy it, at the moment I'm just seeing 💩 that I want to polish 🤣
