Need to sand and re-varnish the floorboards in my new soon to be pinball room's (just thought I would put apostrophe or apostrophe's in just too see if the apostrophe police were ok with it @cooldan)

Probably 10/15 years since I last did these room's and I used Ronseal Heavy Duty floor varnish, the one with a big X on the tin and sniffing it was harnful!!

Like many things, Jeyes Fluid, Creosote, etc you can't get the strong proper stuff any more so just putting it out there to see if anybody knows where I can get Heavy Duty varnish, doesn't have to be Ronseal just the real deal and not the wishy washy milky stuff?

Try this stuff - Dulux Trade (available from your local Dulux trade centre or similar). recommended to us by a friend in the trade (contracts manager for a large regional decorating company) and used extensively on commercial projects ( including 10 pin bowling alleys and the like)

Used originally on several large rooms in our our house when we moved in 13 years ago. Two rooms with very heavy traffic (kitchen and hall) just need re-doing, but lounge doesn't look like it's worn at all. Water based as well & formulation hasn't had to change.

Picture of floor (180 year old timber) doorway to lounge - no discernible wear to original coating

(And we're not the kind go household where guests have to take their shoes or hobnail boots off before they can enter !

Sorry - should have said it's not cheap (worth a haggle to get closer to a trad rate) to buy initially but a big saving on the number of times you'll have to re-do!
