I think you will have more luck from the US based suppliers for non-routine parts, is the motor you need in the base of the cab for the score unit?

I have a 1967 Gottlieb I have used for spares, if you could get a pic or a part no I could check the one I have to see if its the same.

Hi, John.

Drop me a PM. I should be able to help you.

Thanks, the machine is 1962 Gottlieb 'Rack a Ball' , I need a stepper motor same as in the picture its the o - 9 unit has the bell fitted at one end, the main arm with nylon bush is worn, also need some of these sprung contacts (in picture)or the whole piece will do, also a scemetics for same game. I working my way through the game and will need solenoids and plungers, do have these? I cant tell you any nos. yet as they are the original and faded or rapper gone, a scemetics will have a list, anything like this will be great.
John

Hello, John,

I'm afraid you're confusing us with the word 'motor' - the pictures show a stepper unit, an electro-mechanical games' motor is something different. It's mounted on the 'motor panel', bolted to the floor of the cabinet. At the front on the left, near the tilt pendulum. The disc(s) rotate to operate the switches mounted around it/them, providing timing pulses for other units, e.g. doling out 500 points requires 5 pulses of the 100 point relay.

Going by the pictures, it seems to be the normal Gottlieb step unit. The second picture shows the contact 'disc' and 'wiper' fitted to actually perform the 0 to 9 selection, for both the 25v 'works' side and the 6v lighting side.

Ah sorry dude, the part I have is the score motor in the bottom of the cab that Jay mentions, I already parted out all the playfield mounted parts, although from memory the stepper unit was the 'newer' style with wipers rather than the spring-loaded contacts.

Hi, John. That's what's called a stepper unit. It will have one or two coils on it, depending on what it's supposed to be doing. I thought you were referring to the actual motor on the bottom board, so I dont have those bits.

I will be placing an order with PBR in about 2 weeks so I'd be happy to add your bits to the order. To see what parts you need, take a look through their website : www.pbresource.com . It's not the easiest site to navigate but they will likely have what you need. And the spring loaded little plungers on that bakelite disc and known as 'snowshoes' . It the brass rivets are damaged, then they sell new ones.

Once you know what you need, give me the info as I'll add to my next order.

Doug.

Snowshoes, eh? It's a long time since I've worked with electro-mechanical games, but I hadn't heard that. I suppose it's to differentiate between s/shoes and the other type of wiping contact, the copper 'spider'. Though I associate those with the other manufacturers.

Your right its not a stepper motor..its a stepper unit , it turns continuously, does not spring back or release and has only 1 solenoid, I'll have a look on PBR and let you know, And the snow shoes, I didnt know what they are called. Very kind of you to add to your order, will have look Monday now and be in touch.
Many thanks
John

Ok, just let me know, preferably by PM. Be aware that although PBR ship very fast and they arrive in Blighty usually in 48 hours, due to customs, parcelfarce, etc it often takes 3 weeks and more before I actually get them so I hope you arent in a mad rush!
Cheers, Doug.
