Gott parts

Depends how much you want a class of 1812?

If it's just becasue you want to do a resto, I'm sure something closer will turn up.

Distance don't bother me i just use Martin it's unobtanium parts that bother me which is why I'll prob not bother with this one

I doubt I will get that 1812 mainly due to the plastic surround bit missing from the teeth and heart. I may still put a low bid but ill prob hold out for a better project
I'm not sure there is a plastic around the heart and teeth. I may be wrong, but i think its just an open area, with heart and teeth mounted on the back area with web decal behind

Has anyone from the UK ordered from PBR before? Sounds like you have. I contacted Steve to ask about some bits and how to go about placing a first-time international order, but as they don't take VISA, PayPal or any form on on-line payment it all seemed a bit complicated. I've never used or even heard of several of the suggested payment methods in their reply to my query:

Please see our terms below. If you agree with our terms, simply re-send this email to us to have a total calculated including shippings.

The following payment options are proposed for international orders. We have no preference about which you use, you make that decision based on convenience and cost to you

options
1. bank draft
2. international money order (Canada...postal money orders are fine)
3. western union (if using, you must send to me as a PERSON rather than to us as a company, you should include your phone number and be careful to list our address correctly as the agent makes sure everything matches)
4. a US check, do you have a friend/associate here that can write a check on your behalf?
5. US currency, we have had good luck and this many times is the lowest transaction cost

not recommended but can be used
1. bank transfer...add $30.00 in fees to the invoice amount (and your bank charges you too, this is not for small transfers)...if you choose this method, write us for account and routing numbers

not acceptable
1. credit cards
2. paypal
3. foreign checks (Canada note: Canadian checks, even in US funds, are NOT acceptable...we incur a $13.00 fee to send check for collection because it does not have US bank routing codes)

We will not mis-state, mis-lead, or be less than 100% honest on package
declarations to any foreign country. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS and this policy
is not open to debate. For customs declarations, merchandise will be shown
separately from shipping expense, we suggest you discuss this with your
postal people in regards to customs duties.

thanks

Even after Googling I couldn't work out how to do either #1 or #2 (and I think my bank would charge £30 for #1 although that might be for a bank transfer rather than draft). I always thought Western Union was a big no-no as it's untraceable, I obviously don't have a US cheque book (shudders at the sight of the word "check") and sending cash in the post is probably worse than Western Union!

Indeed - welcome to the world of PBR .... it's the year 1994 and online payments are the stuff of a madman's dream

The reason I have never ordered anything from them, had a look once and just couldn't believe how convoluted the whole process seemed to be. Bonkers.

Yes I have indeed, just a few times over the years. Cash in the post is very easy and fits very nicely in an airmail envelope. It does seem a tad weird when you do it, after all we are told contantly not to do that by our post office.

Just bumping this as in same position with PBR... They have a hard to find part I really need, so think will have to plunge..... Anyone else used Andy's recommendation successfully? Never used it before but toying with this or simply USD in the post which seems bizarre.

Have asked Andy in meantime if he has the flipper rebuild kits....

going back 15 years before paypal became the norm,a lot safer/accepted in most places, then if you wanted anything from the US then the options previously mentioned were the only way, cash in envelope, bank draft, IMO, used all of them so sounds like PBR haven't moved with the times!!

I used moneygram when I got some bits from him

Jesh, I've heard a few people complain about dealing with PBR, but didn't realise they were so stuck in the early 90's.

Unfortunately they are the only place to buy certain Gottlieb parts.

Ideally everyone on the forum needs to pool their order together so there are less payment fees and shipping involved?

I heard @pinballmania does sometimes do PBR orders so maybe Andy should get a list of what people want for his next order? Obviously Andy would need to add a margin on this, but a little extra money for less hassle than dealing direct with PBR?
