GOTG ORB Motor

Thanks @Paul R Owen but that looks like a light fitting. The Prem & LE has a motor that opens the orb

@Dave Bishop - those capacitors look a bit suspicious ! Are the two twisted together grounding on the motor casing?

indeed they were!
I had a look last night , I moved the wires the other side of the cable tie.
I’m asking for a picture to see if other games have shrink wrap or some covering over it..

Another one of Stern’s great QC!

What’s the problem with yours?
I’ve just put mine in test and it wasn’t working probably either,I hadn’t even noticed 😀.
Closes fine but gets stuck when opening, some kind of adjustment needed as you can free it easily enough with your hand.

Mine didn’t work at all.
It opens, but not very wide. I was looking at the back of it, you have to take the ramp off and the plastic covering the top. You can then see the runners where the orb sides open. Might be getting stuck along there somehow 🤷‍♂️

Yeah mine’s the same, opens about halfway then gets stuck. I’ll have a better look in the sober light of day, but for now disabled the orb motor to stop it burning out, looks like an alignment issue rather than a motor issue.

I've seen caps wired like that on RC brushed motors, can be soldered to the motor casing here looks like the cable tie is doing the job.

I put the orb plastic protector on and that caused the orb to get stuck. Just bent the bracket slightly and it's been fine since. Have you fitted a protector?
What in particular do you need a picture of on the motor and will take a picture tomorrow
Cheers

Fixed mine, the plastic bushes that hold the orb halve’s in place slide along the metal bracket. One of these was sticking on the metal. Took the orb half off and cleaned up the bushes and bracket and added a bit of dry lube, problem solved.
