Anyone got a spare U6 (only) gold TAF rom - mine has a checksum error and keeps resetting the machine ?

Cheers Kev

Is this what you are looking for?

why Darren? I like the idea of it disabling high power when coin door open if nothing else

The gold ROM includes the random Cousin It awards which skew the scoring for multi-player games. You could lose because someone randomly got 25M from Cousin It's Hideout rather than from scoring the points themselves :)

The 'Gold' software would display the message 'Door Open/Interlock Disables Playfield High Power' with the door open, but in a standard Addams there wouldn't be an interlock fitted. So the solenoid & flashbulb power would still be live. As I recall, WMS introduced the interlock later, on Twilight Zone or Indiana Jones PBA, after moving the location of the door switch(es) on Dracula.

ah ok will check that out and see if it is still live then with door open

Thanks for the info on the door switch Jay, that explains things, I thought it was strange or something broken, it says high power disabled but it is deffo not, but it's ok to risk a shock, it's a Fester quirk!
I like the Gold roms for the extra speech quotes but I agree with the cousin it awards making scoring unfair in comps but you can choose how many are given, not sure if you can choose zero awards, will check it out.
Cheers Adie

Your right Jay it just displays the message but doesn't have the switch to9 disable the power anyway - guess the gold machines do

The games where you need to be extra-careful are the early 80's games with HV displays under the playfield, such as Vector, Medusa, Lightning, etc.
