Wanted GI OCD for WPC89

Yes mate got some Afterglow GIs coming in in 2 weeks time. They'll be £50 ea. I have 5 spares.

So the £50 is board only - The GI needs 5 cables:

1. The ribbon extender cable - I can do this one.
2. The J115 extender (power)
3. The J121 extender (gi)
4. The J120 extender (gi)
5. The J119 extender (gi)

Now 1 I can do no problem, its 2-5 that take all the time. You only need 2-5 if you plan on mounting the board somewhere other than the very bottom of the backbox (in which case the cables don't need extending). If you are mounting on the left wall, as most people tend to, they need extending.

I don't crimp the cables anymore as its too big a job. However, I have a good supplier who I've been speaking to about other cable sets, so I can ask them how much to put the 2-5 extender cables together. Happy to pass them on at cost. Let me know.

Hi, so do you know roughly what it'd cost all-in? And would it be a plug and play (and therefore easily removable) solution?

I've just been working this out with the supplier over the last 24hrs. Not calculated the final price yet, but looking like it'll be around £25 a set for the cables.

So all in (plug and play, and reversible) £75

Add on £10-15 for yourself and you've got a product (and buyer) right there ;)

1x GI OCD new is about £150 or less if used or unwanted. If you can supply GI OCD capability with a similar level of hassle-free installation for under £100, then what's not to like.

I do put a *little* bit of additional on the board, but I'm super conscious with the Afterglow that it's all Christoph's work, and he's a good mate so just trying to find the balance between getting as many out there as possible (because it's an awesome thing), while not making me hate doing the work :-)

understood.

Send him a fruit basket. 🍊🍉🍇🍓🍍

I'm in for a true plug'n'play option. I'll keep looking for a used GI OCD until that's all done and dusted though, simply because i know that system well.

I spend enough time thinking and problem solving at work! Spoon-feed me. 🥄

I send him all my mods instead. A fruit basket for geeks 🤓

Sure mate will put you down for one. I'm making sure to order enough cables so I can provide them with all boards in the future, because everyone wants it to be plug n play (of course)

Since having afterglow GI in RS and BR and now ledocd gi in FT I can't live without it!

I don't mind making the cables but doesn't it require a Z connector?
What size connectors are required as I have lots left over from the other afterglows

Yep it requires a sh1tload of z-connectors :) Best place for those is pinball center.

Here's the cable spec I just sent to the supplier. If I were you, I'd just buy one of these premade one. Its an annoying amount of crimping.
