I've been playing Ghostbusters Premium on my VP cab, really enjoying it and the game seems absolutely packed with features, more than most recent Pins I can think of, a real 'world under glass'.

Of note it has:

Fairly unique layout
Captive balls
Spooky magna-slings
Hologram ghosts target
Pop up targets
Moving bash toy/Slimer
Scoops
Ramps
Subway
Nice mix of short/tight and long shots
Great sound package

I was wondering why it doesn't get the love it seemingly deserves? I can see a nearly new one with Colour DMD, Sideart and a few other extras sold less than a year ago for £5500 which dare I say it seemed a bit of a bargain?

Is it purely down to the flipper gap that turns people off?

There are two issues, one is the flipper gap, but that's manageable on other games, but the design of Slimer and the ball coming out of the pops exacerbates the flipper gap so it just becomes frustrating, the new code helped, but after a while I just realised it had the same flaws and sold mine. I thought I'd miss it but haven't done.

Cheers,
Neil.

I'm currently watching your stream of it. Maybe the VP version plays slightly differently as I'm not noticing that.

its a shame because the art, music, call outs and most of the rest of the game is fantastic.

For me the game was too one dimensional with not enough varierty. Aside from the mini wizard modes, you only have one main multiball and the modes to go for, nothing else. Flipper gap and outlane design didn't help but weren't conclusive in themselves.

I bought one with intention of having a bit of a bash on it and then selling on within a month or two unless it really gelled. Suffice to say it went up for sale within a couple of months. I did enjoy it more than I'd expected to but my expectations were low!

Best theme ever with the absolute best art and call outs. Sadly it's a dreadful game. They had to code in so many ball saves because of the abysmal layout to try to fix it. The right most shot up that little ramp is bad. You need to cover everything with plastics to stop airballs. The code is pretty flat as Greg says. That flipper gap is daft and you'll forever find yourself fighting the machine, it rarely seems to flow and get you into the zone, just a relentless slog. Just a chore to play. I like difficult games but this just feels relentlessly unfair and you'll drain even when hitting shots. Stern have done so many games that are better. All that said.... I always fancied another one 😂, theme is just too good
