Ok Ive been thinking about writing Gary Stern a letter (not a stern one, just a letter to a stern) anyways I would like to share my thoughts and hopefully you clever and mad chaps can put you views forward and I'll inc in the letter.
Now I love playing pinball. I love playing against someone but apart from comparing scores thats about it.
I think we need more connected pins like the good old NLP NBA basket ball pins.
For those not in the know, 2 NBA basketball machines are linked together via a cable and 2 people can play against each other and interact a bit.
I would like to see more linkable machines that maybe can even connect via the interweb. It would even be a win for the manufacturer as operators would probably buy 2 machines instead of 1.
I'm not necessarily into licensed games but Stern seem to be, so how about a battle type game based around Call of Duty, Medal of Honour, Halo etc etc.
The important part is the interaction, the killing of your opponent., the dodging of the bullet. @Adrian Hufton loves hooking his xbox up with other guys via the internet and then thrashing the **** out of each other. Imagine 10 of us playing pinball against each other at the same time.
It could be a time based game and when your ball drains, you die and then spawn, ball back in play in another part of the game.
Maybe it has a fire button on the lock down bar, do you let go of the flipper buttons to fire? You do but click click your out of ammo. You need to make x shot to reload.
Maybe a grenade or flash bang comes your way, the table erupts with light and shaker motor then it all goes very dark and its harder to see the ball for x seconds.
Maybe you suffer injuries and one of your flippers no longer works for x seconds.
Maybe your disorientated and the operation of flippers is reversed for a time.
Maybe your ball is captured by the enemy.
All the time your trying to do this to your opponents while trying to stop it happening to you.
In a single machine game you could play against the computer. With 2 they could be connected via cable, wireless or bluetooth. Via the internet teams could work together.
Maybe a camera and audio linking so you can see your opponents face and also make sure his glass is in place.
of course a BFG is needed too.
Please Discuss.
