I thought I'd share this with all. Not sure if the picture does this justice but wanted to share it.

I'm just doing a full cab redecal of a FH and when I've removed the decals the light combined with time has kind of gently stained the wood and left the decal print on it. It looks fantastic in person even my other half said it was a shame I'd be sanding it off!!

Wondered if anyone else had seen such an effect when they've done a restore?

I took on a funhouse re-decal. My wood was not suntanned beautifully like this

I would suggest that you practice painting a few coats of the blue paint on scrap primed plywood before you spray it onto your cabinet's prepared and primed wood. Just to make sure that the paint goes down properly and meets your expectations.

I had such a nightmare with blue paint on the head of my game that I had to do the job twice. The "orange peel" effect blue paint would not even sand off without melting (even when using sanding blocks). I then needed to re-fill and re-prime the head

I found halfords own brand peugeot indigo blue to be ok, but not perfect. The Hycote indigo blue that I initially used gave me loads of problems. I used simoniz acrylic primer which worked fine, whether it reacted with the other paints or not, I have no idea

Good luck

Thanks DRD for the advice sorry for the pun but it didn't sound like much fun was being had in your house when you were doing the spraying:eek::eek::eek:

Can't believe I just said that I feel like I've just let myself down
