A pinball adjacent question. I want to buy a game from ebay US (not pinball machine but related) but they won't ship to the UK, or indeed anywhere outside the US. Can anyone recommend a freight forwarder who could handle this? Would they be able to provide a US address for such an order then forward to me in the UK?

Check out the Ukvac forum, there is a container being organised by someone in the US to ship machines across, fixed price but there is an additional charge for outside machines from the ones the guy organises, you can get it shipped to him and then need to pickup/use Martin when the container arrives.

Has anyone used freight forwarders in the US?
I’ve used stackry for small to medium sized stuff. They give you a usa delivery address and will repack multiple items into a single shipment, or just ship single items onwards. No idea if they can handle bigger items or not though.

Thanks- I've registered with Stackry. Really easy to use.

Guys I know in the states who ship video cabinets around a lot mostly seem to use two companies, STI and Beltmann. You'd have to arrange with them to ship to Hagerstown where the guy doing containers is. Seems to cost from like $500 to a few thousand depending on the distance involved though!

I bought a pachinko-sized machine from a US guy on ebay. He wouldn't ship outside US, so I've used Stackry. Shipping US to UK not cheap as they use Fedex but it was a simple process at least. I haven't received the item yet but Stackry seems good so far...

Stackry worked perfectly- really easy process. I'd recommend them.
I’ve used DHL a few times, used to be reasonably priced but since Covid prices have went crazy, not worth it when you factor in import duty too.

So are Stackry able to ship an arcade machine?

Yes but I wouldn't recommend for that large an item, as it would have to be FedEx. I used Stackry as the seller wouldn't ship outside the US. It was a touchscreen game, a bit smaller than a pachinko, and cost $700 to ship to UK. I did send express though, and for smaller stuff would be fine.

FedEx are too expensive, DHL are definitely cheaper but still crazy money compared to what it used to be, I checked out that Stackry website for even smaller stuff but thought it was just too expensive.
