Sadly need to let this go as I’ve got one pinball too many. It’s been fully workshopped with loads of new parts and plays like new. This definitely sits at the frustrating, just one more go, end of the pinball spectrum so if you’re the sort of person who likes to spend half an hour on a single ball on LotR then it may not be for you! :) Personally I think it’s great fun (as does everyone else who’s played it) and it works well as a multi-player game as ball times aren’t too long. Nicely integrated theme as well with lots of call-outs (many of a mocking nature) from Robert “Freddy” Englund himself.

From a workshopping point of view, the playfield has been fully stripped, cleaned and re-assembled including the following:

Playfield touched up, sealed with a light clearcoat and further protected with a full playfield protector - belt and braces!
All 4 flippers fully re-built with flipper rebuild kits, coils plus new flipper bats for the 3 normal flippers
New glove for the glove flipper
Full playfield decal set applied. This includes mylar protection on all drop and kicking targets to prevent wear
New plastic ramp. The Gottlieb design means that the upkicker drops the ball directly onto the plastic ramp which is presumably why the ramps are often trashed. To prevent this from happening to the new ramp, I’ve added drop dead foam to protect the ramp. This could be removed if you don’t like the look of it and want to take your chances.
New Souls targets shroud
All new stand-up targets including the 4 hidden behind the souls shroud
New shooter rod and springs
New Bumper caps, bases and skirts
New Rubber set
New apron plastic (to stop air balls from the claw save hitting the playfield glass)
New playfield glass
Replaced CPU battery. The old (original) one was still going strong after many years but I’m aware of a few CPU batteries from Gottliebs of this era having started to fail recently with strange effects so replaced it as a precautionary measure which should ensure another 15+ years without needing to worry about it.
All playfield fuses checked to ensure correct value and replaced where required
New double leaf flipper switches in the cab to ensure good conductivity for the high voltage. New flipper buttons including the claw save activator button
Original manual (from Pinball Resource).
All circuit boards in good condition
DMD bright with no lines out. Note there is a red filter on the speaker panel.
Custom mod created to prevent trapped balls damaging the boiler door mech – full detail here: https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/threads/mods-that-fix-game-issues-–-freddy-example.50157/
Everything functions as it should

As you will see from the photos, the cab sides are shabby but on the positive side, they’re unfaded so the reds and purples are still nice and vivid so I decided to leave as is. Others may prefer to consider re-decalling.

I could potentially drop this off at the Daventry show next week if paid for up front. Otherwise can be collected from Pudsey, West Yorks.

Price is £2,850

Played this a few times and seen the journey of the restoration up close. A real labour of love. You won't find a better restoration or a freddy in this condition.

Great fun game.
