Hi everyone,

I've been working on this project for quite some time (a couple of years). So, what is it? FRAME-1 is the next-generation pinball clock, capable of showing animations, text (like callouts, for example), time, weather, and much more. New 'modules' (playlist items) will be added continuously. I will be sharing more pictures and videos soon.

Here's a breakdown of the key features:

–– 7.9" TOUCH DISPLAY ––
The device is controlled via the touch screen, so there are no physical buttons. You can swipe to access settings, enable dark mode, etc.

–– PERSONALIZED PLAYLISTS ––
You can choose what you'd like to see, such as time/date, DMD animations, messages, weather, videos, Pinside and IFPA statistics (like top-rated machines, player rankings), and much more.

–– FREE OTA SOFTWARE UPDATES ––
The device will update itself over Wi-Fi whenever new updates are available

–– RGB STATUS LED ––
There is an RGB LED on the front to indicate, for example, if the Wi-Fi is offline or when "Attract Mode" is activated.

–– WI-FI CONNECTIVITY ––
There's built-in Wi-Fi to keep you connected. The device can still be used offline, but some features, like weather, statistics and free software updates, will require a Wi-Fi connection.

–– REAL-TIME DOT MATRIX EMULATION ––
It can process and display almost everything in a DMD style, including any video. This will allow for some exciting upcoming features! While some content will be in dot matrix style, other content will not, making the device very versatile.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts about this? Any questions, please let me know.

Sorry there’s no built-in speakers, although that would be possible in a future hardware revision.

It looks nice, but it’s a shame that the status LED is in such a prominent position on the front of the device. It takes away from the look of it. Can it be turned off via the settings?

Thanks for the feedback! The LED won’t be on all the time, and it is fully possible to turn off.

Hope this isnt an Advert, else it will be removed for contravening T&C's...

Just saying....
Thanks for your concern. This is not an advertisement, as you may notice there’s no price or link to anything for purchase. I’m simply asking for your thoughts and feedback on my device.

There's multiple others of these around.. the ones i produced, the awesome ones Alan Made... I think your entry to the market may be a little late...
I can name 3/4 others of these that exist, all have their pros and cons.

Will ultimately be down to the price vs features vs market "desireability"

I’ve got 4 different similar things that I don’t really need but love them all.

For me to buy another it would need to offer something the others don’t, that would be sound - so if it’s overly late for a redesign to add sound then maybe add a line out else think the market is going to be limited.

Just my humble opinion as you asked

Iv been working on a non pinball product which has just had audio added so can point you in the direction of decent cheap speakers and audio amps.

Also what Is the little box at the bottom? Would it make more cosmetic sense if the whole thing was more a traditional clock shape?

Will it be 3D printed or injection moulded case?

It's nice that we have all these existing alternatives out there but how many of them are actually available to order and ship in a timely manner?

Thanks! Great opinion, I’ll take note!

I believe this will offer something unique, which will become clear once I share the video. The clock functionality is just a small part; the variety of playlist items is what makes it truly interesting. For instance, it will feature callouts from different games depending on the time of day or display the top-rated machines. These are features I haven’t seen in any other device and will provide a much greater variety than its competitors.

That little “box” is actually the base, as this is a desktop version. I think it will become clearer if I provide a better picture.

It’s 3D-printed, but you can hardly tell the difference these days…

This is my opinion.

The price is high at £300ish

Plus postage to UK
Import cost and 20% VAT
Return costs if it goes wrong….

Do you warranty the product?

The landing cost will be quite a bit higher than £300.

These days when money is a little tight - most people wont pay this on a clock (Alan’s one was just over £100 which I personally considered more that what I would normally spend on a clock). I did support his product.

The other thing is we can not actually see what the product can do.

If I was you. Become a site supporter. It will cost you £12. Then put up a proper advertisement.
