Hi guys
following on from Scottys sale. Does anyone have a CPR playfield in their old trousers or leads or links to one or even a hard top or overlay?
Thanks in advance
Gaz

Maybe reach out to CPR. They may be able to do a small run with their digital printer.

Someone on pinside said they have “insider information” that FG is coming soon.

I have been offered an original with wear but sealed in clear coat for £550. Not sure if that’s good or not!!

looks like I have options though which is good

I suppose it depends on the wear and whether its something you can live with.

For a CPR pf it will probably be in the region of $1000 including postage plus you may get 20% VAT after import.

You can get overlays. I had a look for one the other day while you were decision making. I did find one for about $250 but I can’t remember where.

yeah I’ve done it before with taxi. It’s not about the money with certain games. It’s just having a nice one. We’ll see.

There’s a video of TNT fitting the sticky overlay to a Flash Gordon on YouTube. Looks like a good solution.

Can anyone comment on the longevity of an overlay?

There is something about putting a hard clearcoat over a relatively soft material that doesn't sit right with me.

Are hard tops available?

I would defo prefer a hardtop over a sticky overlay but for a premium title maybe getting your pf restored.

I don’t have any experience with them. It’s a cheap solution and obviously there are better options that cost a lot more. Some people are commenting that the quality can be iffy. This guy makes his own and has them printed onto Mylar. Which ought to be rugged enough.

do you have any pics of the one you were offered for £550?,wear by the saucer area is common and can be quite bad

that playfield was in fairly good nick beforehand and could have defo been restored properly, shame it was sanded to dust

You could just play the long game. See what comes along if the game becomes a keeper.

FG was not for me, I let mine go in short order.

My Fathom had a shredded playfield. CPR did a limited re_run a couple of years later, that @ronsplooter and I took advantage of. Problem solved

@replicas - if that is my old FG, I thought that PF was pretty good.

If so, why not sell my old populated pf to someone that has a rubbish one, take theirs as partex and strip the rubbish one down ?

It is Dave, and yes it's in great condition, but if I don't get one of the playfields while they are being run I will only regret it later down the line.

No mate. I didn’t. They were initially out of production when I wanted one then I ended up selling the machine.

Not had much luck on my other thread so thought I would post here. Anyone got a FG playfield that they would part with? Or a whole machine that is nicely done? I have been speaking with the guy who does the hardtop, so that is an option, does anyone have any experience with the FG hardtops?
