Does anybody know where to get blue spring steel in the UK for making ramp flaps?

I see they're not commonly available for every game/ramp and perhaps it's best to make them myself, although not sure how just yet.

are you going to 8bitflip?

i have some of that stuff i bought years ago and will never use, i will sell you it at cost if i can find out where i got it from. gotta go look at the packaging if you want it. it's in a tightly rolled tube i think.

Not going to 8fitblip. I've bought some of that bluing gear off the zon so I'll have a go with that first.

I believe this is the sort of stuff you need, Spring Steel Sheet:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless...-Precision-0-1-0-2mm-Mat-1-4310-/181598470534

That stuff is 301 Stainless Steel 1.4310. There's a hole bunch of different alloys for spring applications but considering the usual cr@p pinball parts are usually made out of (I just polished some ramps flaps for a LOTR over the weekend) I bet that stuff is way above specification. I has particularly low magnetic properties! Just need to get your digital calipers to check the thickness.
