I thought it attached to the switch?
If you look carefully you can see a screw from the switch bracket

The screws that hold the switch on also hold the required part on. It's just a cosmetic addition.
If you can't source one go to your local metal dealership and see it they have any 1/2 or 3/4 inch by 1 inch rectangular tube offcuts so you can fashion your own.
