My mum sent me this pic the other day of when I first moved into my current house in Wales from London in 2001, I brought with me a few machines that I put together as I was going to have a ton of space, thats my garage and that corner now has my pin room that I built nearby 2 years ago. Best thing I’ve done.

There is a Dr Who, Xenon and Vector there. Plus some video games, really regret selling defender and Xenon☹️

And RIP Bonnie my old GSD, she sat there once when we went off to the beach all day guarding the machines as I left the garage door open😬

Vauxhall Cavalier CD wow

Non working Skijump which had a score reset issue. Continuously looping 0000-9999. It never did play, but every summer we'd pull it out the wood shed and try to fix it.

In the end my old man swapped it for a ****ty AM radio. Very upsetting it was.

I can still hear that reset sequence now!IMG-20201011-WA0035.jpg

My first pin was Big Hurt bought in 99 from the pinball show in Birmingham. Nigel Lunt delivered it all the way down to Poole on the Sunday evening and lugged it upstairs for me - a true gent and awesome guy!

Sold it a number of years later only to buy it back from the person I sold it to but sadly sold again after a couple more years.

Absolutely loved it (had never seen it vefore the show but at the time was very keen on Gottlebs having loved Street Fighter II, Wipe Out and then Teed Off). And a geat pin as a first pin. Would highly recommend to anyone starting out although a rare game even back then!

Apologies for the curtains!!

Where it all began.....seems like such a long time ago  The bookie MAME cab is still around (gave it to my nephews) but WCS is long gone. It's one of very few games I'd like to have again. I absolutely rinsed it as it was my only game and tbh at that time I couldn't afford to buy multiple pins so it had to go to fund another :( That was the kitchen in my old 2 bed terrace house, I got 3 pins in that room

Still can’t get over how tall that garage is lol. First game was NBAFB off Neil few years back :)

I still can’t believe my wife’s uncle built it for a Winnebago😱 We bought the house from him.
It still wasn’t tall enough as he had to take the ac unit off the roof, he didn’t like to waste anything as he fitted in the garden room😂

My first machine, less than 8 years ago.

I had been pricing up for a 6ft fish tank and then saw an ad from Mr Heighway for this, £1,100 IIRC.
Phoned him up, paid for it, then mentioned in passing to my ex (Julie) that I 'might' have just bought a pinball machine.
Swapped a few months later for a DM.

Approx 40 machines have passed through since then, mainly through temporary loans and swaps until I've landed at my current lineup.

(Curtains not as bad as @robotgreg 's😀)

Cool, Ive played that a few times then at Andy’s down in limerick when he lived over here. The ball launched and whacked the glass every time, scared the bejesus out of me every time as well 🤣

WWFRR

Bought it from Brian in Southampton 7 ish years ago. I paid £1,000 for it and bought a fiesta RS turbo for £900 in the same week, good times.

Fun widebody with lots to do and some really interesting modes but the lack of a complete loop did my head in even when I was new to pinball.

OH YEAH!!!!

£120 for a non-working Laser Ball some 4 years ago I think - man that was so much fun to learn and everyone on the forum was so good at helping me get it up and running. Kinda miss the simplicity of it all and just the pure fun of getting it going.

First coin op game was a Barcrest Circle Skill fruit machine I bought in 1983 when I was 15. My Dad thought it would be the size of an old one arm bandit so wasnt happy so it went in the garage. First pinball was a Stern - Magic from 1979. Earliest game I have a picture of is Genesis (game # 12 and my first alpha-numeric) Still have Centaur here in the arcade (game #5) First dot matrix game was Star Trek DE I bought on 19 November 1994 ( Easy to remember as it was the day of the first lottery draw and I used my scores to pick the numbers - and won a tenner!)
