I know most of you are into the later DMD stuff, but was wondering how many of you are into electromechanical machines?

It's all I collect, mainly 'cos I prefer the artwork & I understand how they work.

I'd say I'm not particularly interested in owning any (not at the moment anyway) but I do enjoy playing them at league meets. I think they level the playing field at bit more than the DMD era stuff so even the best players can bomb out on them

Really enjoyed the classics tourney at the Slam as well.

I used to play EMs when I was a kid in the sixties and early seventies before the Solid State revolution. I love popping down to Pete's and Geoff's Pinball Parlour once in a while to play all the EMs that they have in there. I especially love playing the Captain Fantastic, Sing Along, King of Diamonds, Majorettes, Fireball & Hot Line that they have set up in there. I also enjoy playing a Williams Triple Strike, Grand Prix or Spanish Eyes whenever I get a chance.

I don't own any EMs at present, but wouldn't mind picking up one of the last three mentioned if I got the chance.

I accidently came across one and bought it cos it was cheap, turns out its the most charm and character of all my machines. Sure they play totally different, but look great and sound great.

These machines are, from an engineering point of view, genius! EM convert. Wish I could read those circuit diagrams better though...

I initially ignored EM machines as I thought they could not offer anywhere near the excitement/enjoyment as SS machine. However, I played a few whilst on holiday in the states last month and found I really enjoyed them. I would seriously consider owning one now but with only space for 2 machines it's unlikely that an EM will ever take one of the slots. Unless the missus will allow one in the lounge, simply as an object of art!!

I guess it depends on your era. SS was mine. I know some folks on here/yahoo group will only play EM's and think new SS machines are spawn of the devil;-)

Suppose SS were my era, (I grew up in the 80's), just always prefered the look of EM's.

Maybe it's because I'm more of a restorer than a player, only ever played a couple of DMD games. All those toys & diferent levels are too confusing for me!
