So as a private seller you sell a machine (or anything) for say £2k and the buyer collects. Does ebay lose out on its 4% ?
Cash payment on ebay has not been allowed for a long time now
I've not changed my prices yet in the hope that they do (as you know as soon as I edit every price they'll change itWaiting to see how long before they ditch this buyers fee sh*tshow .
I listed a load of car parts and not had close to expected sales, with buyer now paying for shipping plus a buyers fee I guess I'll have to reevaluate. Used to be I'd sell for £20 including shipping and only see £12-14 , actually thought new system would be better as you get what you ask for, without the shipping cost lottery plus eBay's close to 20% cut of everythingI've not changed my prices yet in the hope that they do (as you know as soon as I edit every price they'll change it)
Sales are definately down now so I am going to have to do it soon![]()
Yep, exactly why they have made it digital payments only, if people were paying cash, ebay would never see their "buyers fee"Just had a collection sale on a Buy it Now, they paid on purchase but I didn't get my money till they turned up to collect 2 weeks later with a collection code. I'm guessing they paid the new fee on top.
They need to make it clear to buyers though what the sellers price is and what eBay have added - currently it just looks like the seller has set a mental priceI listed a load of car parts and not had close to expected sales, with buyer now paying for shipping plus a buyers fee I guess I'll have to reevaluate. It gets even worse if you look at the bids page, it currently appears to show the bids minus the buyers fee. They need to make it clear to buyers though what the sellers price is and what eBay have added - currently it just looks like the seller has set a mental price
Buyers also get no more protection than before . The whole thing is an absolute shambles.
I don’t expect to use it for free as a seller. Would happily go back to the previous sellers fee system rather than this mess. At least there was some clarity,
