Hi All
A few years ago I built a few pinball DMD clocks. The last batch was sold mainly at Replay Blackpool in 2018. A few people have complained that the clock keeps crashing and the screen goes blank. Power has to be cycled to fix the issue, however once this has started to happen it will continue.
After many hours of diagnosis over the time since 2018 I think I have finally identified the issue and made the necessary software changes. I wasn't sure if it was a problem with the power supply, PCB, micro controller or SD Card, and the issue was very difficult to reproduce quickly and repeatedly. I believe it was a software error when communicating with the SD Card.
So, if anyone is experiencing this issue then please follow the instructions here:
https://github.com/sigmafx/DotClk-Help#if-the-clock-keeps-crashing--screen-goes-blank
Basically, you'll need to remove all files from the SD Card and replace with the files I provide, and then update the firmware on the micro controller. It's not too difficult. Let me know if you need any further help,
David.
