So this came from Europe in a FG. It had a couple of lines stuck on and a dot that was off. I sent it to Phil at PH along with another one that I blew up. Phil fixed the other one and has advised me to flog this on here as it's fixable in the right hands but not economical for me to pay him to. He has thrown in a 'block' that will fix it but it's a slightly different colour when the dmd is off...see pic.

It appears to have some extra circuitry that isn't on the usual modern stern dmds. It was powered from a hack but also seemed to work in my Tron's 5v.

Phil estimates it's value at £75 so that's what I'm after....

Cheers

What did Phil diagnose as the problem? surely not that block as it's plug in!

I'm guessing some or one of the SMD chips are bad? if it was compatible with Bally Williams I would be a buyer @£50

The fault that causes stuck on lines is nothing more than a single shorted LED on the block.. so if you change that block or whichever block has the shorted LED then it will cure (most probably) the lines being stuck on.

Don't the blocks just lever off/plug into sockets? I.e. No soldering? Thats how they were on my SM display when I changed a segment with a dot out.

yes, i would have plugged it in but with that stupid not seen before 12v in i couldn't be bothered messing with it.
