Since installing the PIN2DMD in my ACDC, there is quite a bit more reflection on the glass, to the point where it's quite difficult to see the jukebox on the backboard.

I see pinballlife and pinballshop.nl have these polarised filters, but both want more for shipping than the price of the filter!

Anyone have one of these for sale, or know an economical way to get/fabricate one locally?

Thanks

I just used some tinted acrylic from https://www.cutmyplastic.co.uk/

I'm sure Col could do you some also
Thanks for the tip, did you get the light or dark tint? Also trying to understand how it works - is this tinted acrylic polarised, or does it diminish the glare simply by obscuring the DMD?

I did play with reducing the brightness in the PIN2DMD config, and that does help with the glare. But then the image is of course less vivid.

No it's not polarised or anything fancy like that - i did it to reduce the visibility of the pixels when they are off. I got light tint, but I was going to try the dark because with light the OFF pixels were still slightly visible. It's pretty cheap anyway (3 pounds a panel or so) so you could always try both and see if that improves things.

Ended up getting some privacy filter for laptop screens. Got 15.6" because the width matches the DMD size (and it was only £25 delivered). Turns out it needs to be rotated 90° so required some surgery.

Well pleased with the result though - makes a massive difference. It totally eliminates the glare and I can now view the backboard and jukebox clearly! :)

If I were to do it again I'd go for this one instead and get 5 or so panels out of it:

Can you not just turn down the brightness on the DMD?
That does help to a point but there's still a fair amount of glare (and then the dots become quite dim). The filter really makes a striking difference.

Edit: invisiglass would probably also do the trick.

Edit2: the thing with ACDC is that you want to see the jukebox on the back there, whereas some other games it doesn't matter much.
