Found these in my Baywatch instead of flasher bulbs...

Anybody recognise their handiwork? Looks like they are made from an old ruler!

Found these under the playfield...

I only went investigating because they were so bad - I thought the bulbs were out.

They need to be saved for a museum of pinball or something. How to keep your machine running when you don't know of any pinball parts suppliers so you have to make your own. Section.
Bonkers

LEDs were probably new technology when these were made - they certainly weren't the ultra bright variety. Is it worth putting them on eBay :D

Impressive ingenuity!
that's what i thought. i am really impressed with these ghetto flashers, and still want to know if these home made thingies actually worked at some time. presumably they did?

Why they couldn't just buy flasher lamps is beyond me!
i assume that either pennies were really tight, or parts availability was a problem - not such an ususual scenario if this machine came from the backwoods of some backwoods country somewhere in Eastern Europe

Dan, yes they were working but were very dim compared to other bulbs nearby. Ghetto indeed :)
