I'm just reading the George Gomez interview on thepinballchick.com and this bit got my attention: -

"Cathy: We’re focused on digital pinball here at The Pinball Chick, and we’re big advocates for doing digital recreations of real tables. Stern did have a deal with Farsight, but nothing has come out recently. Have we seen the end of you guys licensing your tables for those who can’t afford $6,000+ per table?

George: No, not at all. We are actually so interested in that business that we are taking a step back and strategizing how to make a bigger impact in that area. Stay tuned, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. But you know that really cool things take time, it’s not around the corner."

What's the betting they're creating their own platform? Makes total sense with the amount of tables they have available.

Mark Penacho was recently announced as Stern Pinball’s senior systems engineer. According to the company, Penacho brings “diverse and expert level software engineering experience in systems, video and pinball games to Stern Pinball.”

His early portfolio of games includes Earthshaker, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Hurricane and Fish Tales. He later programmed the video game NHL Open Ice and throughout his tenure at Williams Electronics made contributions to system software, tools and display technology.

“Mark is an incredibly talented software engineer with strong leadership skills,” said George Gomez, Stern Pinball’s EVP and chief creative officer. “His expertise with network programming, low latency design and connectivity will fit in very well with our current development endeavors. We are very excited to add his talents to our studio as we grow and continue to produce the most fun and revolutionary pinball machines in the world.

Good news because the previous efforts were an absolute sh1t show. Ghostbusters somehow plays worse on PS4 than it does in real life, amazing effort. Pinball FX on PS4 is decent physics wise but they only have Williams stuff and not enough of it.

The Pinball Fx folks recently announced a new game also. Maybe they have a new deal with it as before they only had one for Bally/Williams
