Horrified is the correct response! I don't see the price, but I am willing to bet it is at least twice the price of a fully functioning pinball machine

Agree. And if it wasn't worth saving then it wouldn't be good enough condition to turn into a coffee table either. I do like the work on the outside of the cabinet though. I think would be a pretty cool customisation if it was still a playable pinball!No pinball would cost $15k to save
Write-up says the playfield was "renewed". It all looks plenty shiny to me. With a bit more thought it could still be a coffee table but why not make it playable? Fun, useful and still an interesting space saving talking point that might make it past the wife

Is it not playable? I assumed the buttons on the side and front were flipper buttons/plunger etc?
I wonder if the inserts flash? Looking at the photo it appears they're all on permanently. That's going to get hot, warp inserts and eat through replacement lamps.
Oh, sod it. Let's face it, I find the whole idea of butchering a pinball into a coffee table highly offensive. And $15,000 would restore 3 DESW's no matter what the original condition.
