Currently maintaining a Taxi and looking for some decent blue plastics... I bought some blue bumper caps for a DW a few months back and they were not good, barely blue. Now I need some lane guides for Taxi and found the same thing (right hand side in the attached). Standing back the incandescent bulb light shines through white, there's hardly any blue in it.

I'm guessing there is only one manufacturer of blue pinball plastics, but just wondered if anyone has a good suggested source?

Cheers! 🍻

Couldn't you just put blue lamps (whether incandescent or LED) in there?

Ah that yes could do that, but I just wondered what's going on with that colour plastics as the star posts are the same. I have some start post (and one guide) that are a lovely deep blue, but the new ones look pale in comparison.

I see PH have blue bulbs in do will get some ordered. Ta

Are they definitely incandescents in there? They look way too bright, more like LEDs (and not matching ones either) which is what is washing out the colour differently between left and right.

the old bally/williams games from the early 80's might be a good source if anyone has any old playfields kicking around, you are not alone,I found the new lane guides seem to shine more white light through as well

afaik, you can't get the old blue (fathom) ones anywhere they are all like yours. As suggested, you may have to live with blue lamps.

Yeah WayneJ they are definitely incandescents. The lane guide on the left is a different source, it's more of an aqua blue but the colour is more vibrant and dense. I would buy these if I could.

Not to get too ocd about this but have a look at the attached. These are all 'blue' star posts as follows:

The middle is the newest
Right is old-new
Left is old-old

Its subjective but personally I like the left one for having the most intensive colour and it's quite clear. The newest is the worst, quite dull in colour and more cloudy.

But thanks for the replies chaps, seems like blue bulbs is the best option for now. Will see how they look with blue bulbs in, and go from there 👍
