I have a Data East Time Machine y has a 520-5003-03 MPU. However it has previously had battery leakage damage in the past and some (pretty dodgy looking) repair work.

I have had many niggles with this board since having this Pin and with the corrosion around the blanking circuit, the machine often resets, no display etc etc and based on the state of the current MPU I have decided to see if I can source a better, nice conditioned MPU.

My MPU currently installed is a 520-5003-03

From what I have read the 520-5003-02 is the original type for this machine ? and that the 520-5003-03 is a later revision MPU. Any of those boards should be ok as a replacement I believe ? I see Rottendog have a Data East MPU004 that is a replacement for these also, are these any good ? Look to be quite expensive ?

I see there are two listed on eBay and certainly the 520-5003-02 is the original board for a Time Machine from what I have read.

Ideally I would like to source a nice board from someone on here but may have to go the eBay route possibly, how high are these priced compared to the going rate ? As per usual the photos on eBay are not detailed and do not show any closeups showing the condition.

The kids and I love this game so ideally hoping to find a nice working better conditioned replacement MPU.

The guy selling the D/E boards on eBay I believe is a member on this group.
I personally don’t think either board is over priced. I’d want around £250 if I’m gonna part with any of mine.
Pinball is an expensive hobby these days and if one of these eBay boards gets yr machine working without resetting every 5 mins then you got a result. Ken
