I know there have been several insurance related questions on here but I can't find one on this particular topic.

I've put my pins in storage while building my shed and would feel happier knowing they were covered by some kind of insurance. The main risk to insure against is fire. I've checked around and some have a limit of the total contents insured, such as £20k. Does anybody have experience/recommendations with a container storage insurance provider who is more sympathetic to what we have stored? Cheers.

I think you might need to ring the companies who supply the insurance to get quotes for over their standard policy limits.

A lot of storage companies will add insurance as an option, some even insist on it - I know when i had a couple of storageunits, i used to pay nearly as much in insurance than the units themselves. This was 4 years ago, however i would guess the same applies today - are the Storage people able to offer you anything?

I use Surewise for the insurance on my unit. They offer cover for both container storage as well as units in purpose build facilities. I found them a lot cheaper than the cover offered by storage companies.
