Connector isn't switches - best practice?

Hi all

Got a load of male and female 2 pin connectors.

I want to connectorise some of my switches on my games, and where applicable in tandem replace them with magnetic reed switches (which are brilliant by the way).

However, which end should go where? Do I put the male or female connector on the switch side?

I don't think technically it matters, but want to make sure it's consistent with ant best practice.

Typically you'd put the male end on the non-powered/passive end.

The idea being that you don't want to short the supply (or in your case the node board/CPU board) when it's unplugged and flapping around the cab.
