Hello all

Does anyone know if the cliffy coloured post sleeves are available in the UK. I right fancy a slack handful of purple, orange, green and blue.

Or failing that if anyone happens to have any of the above colours spare they wanna sell, let me know.

If not its off to the US for some bargain basement postage rates!!!!!

Cheers

I just ordered some of these bad boys from Cliffy about a week ago. They haven't arrived yet though.

Didn't order any purple but I have got some red, yellow, light blue and orange coming. I'm sure I'll be able to spare a few for you.

Very kind of you mate. If the postage is reasonable I'll order some. If you don't mind me asking how much was postage. If you'd rather not say because he did you a favour on it PM me with it.

Hope that FH is working out well for ya:-)

I paid $17 for postage but I ordered some protectors/ramp kit too (+ I ordered 40 posts) so it may well be cheaper for just the posts. I ordered direct from Cliff.

FH is still awesome cheers. She's gonna look beautiful with her new colour co-ordinated posts.

Oh that's not too bad. I'll be ordering about 40 too. May as well stock up. It'll look cool mate. Thanks for the info

Cliffys shipping is fine, some of the other sellers are a joke, was trying to order a needle valve for a carb recently from the US (about half the size of a 13A fuse) shipping and handling was £25, talk about stupid , seen it loads on pinball sites also.

Here's another site with ridiculous shipping rates......we are catching up fast in the UK

, rant over, watch the import and duty on anything over £18 in value, nothing gets through anymore if the value is marked above this and that fixed £9 handling charge by Royal Mail regardless is the Vat or duty is only 10p is a killer.

Best bet is a friend or family stateside. They repackage and send to you as a 'birthday present'

Makes no difference if it is marked as a gift if the declared value exceeds what is allowed by UK customs, you will still get mugged

You are sounding like you have just got done yourself there Dredd's.

Either that or you are miffed off.

Maybe its all those machines and you can't find the room to swing that cat.

Yup, I purchase a lot of stuff from the US and regularly have to pay the import fees (never have to pay fees on anything from China etc, they know the score and don't give two hoots
wink-1.png
), to be honest I don't mind paying the duty as it's generally a few quid, what really gets my goat is that fixed £9 RM charge on every transaction, it really does feel like someone standing on my balls when I get the letter through the door, ooops, just realised I am rambling negative vibes...........time for some fluffy thoughts

Just an offer, I have a work collegue in West Virginia, I can post stuff to her and my boss, who spends two weeks in th UK and two weeks in th US can bring small stuff back, for the larger stuff i go every six months or so and i hold the stuff at her house until i fetch it over. So i have a mule for the gear if it's not too huge and he would happily bring back approx any items which would say fill a cornflake box no worries.

Let me know and we could sort something.

Adie

Would he be ok bringing over some 'talcum powder' from my good friend Pedro the mule?;-)

Adie, that is a dangerous offer, I could fill up their next delivery very quickly.

I ordered some stuff from Cliffy last week, I was going to post on here if anyone wanted anything but the postage was so cheap that it would cost me more to re-post it here in the UK than for people to order direct. However, it does raise a way we could help each other because I had forgotten about the import tax if people, this only works if people have the time to re-posting it once it arrives in the UK.

Where abouts do you live Adie?

I received my order from Cliffy today. Just wanted to say that the colour sleeves look fantastic. I'd definaterly recomend them as a cheap and great looking mod for your games.

Another thing is striking up a bulk order deal with a supplier - I did it a while back for the plastic switch covers, before they became readily available over here thru Pinball Heaven. The guy doing them at the time did me a good price for like a 100 and I then passed them on to peeps here. Works well if its just before a show/meet as you dont have to mess about posting on also.

I want to order some decals from Treasurce Cove soon and have a feeling I'm going to get stung for some silly postage/import money for what amounts to a few stickers.

I suppose the offer was for the more rare things and mainly the very expensive postage costs, I have a taf topper waiting for me to bring back when i go (probably september) and i half fancy a treasure cove polishing kit, I would'nt ask him to bring stuff back in the 100's but when you have looked everywhere else and that's the only purchase option but the postage doubles the price then a favour could be done. I'm in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. It would sort of get a bit messy as i would have to order the gear to post to my colleague in the States, then you would pay me by pay pal or bank transfer but it is not too impossible. If desperate i could help out.

I will let you know when i go as i can bring back to my luggage allowance and i'm not leaning on my manager for a favour.

Like i say, if desperate ask and no promises but if i can i will.

Cheers Adie

Adie,

I'm looking at the Treasure cove polishing kit too - might be interested in sharing shipping costs if it would help on that one...specially as it's "liquids" and they homeland secuities get all twitchy about that kind of stuff (as i found last time i was there!)..

Cheers

I would also be up for a TC polishing kit so it seems that we could save a bit then lets get something sorted.

Anyone else ?

Again,

If they are inflating the shipping, we could get them delivered to our office in WV and they would ship at cost, obviously taking into account the shipping to WV, or if not desperate we could buy them and i will bring them over when i go. It all depends how soon you want one. Get some quotes and i will find out how much to ship from our office.

Either way it sounds like a plan.

Cheers Adie
