Colour DMD's

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is already answered somewhere but I couldn't find a topic. Basically the DMD in my South Park has pretty much given up now so time to replace it and I was thinking of going down the Colour DMD route. So my questions are....

Is there a UK stockist?
Also is it a better idea than trying to find a proper DMD replacement?

As I may also get one for my Getaway too :)

Sean at Pinball Palace is your man for Colour DMD. Is it better than trying to find a replacement? Depends how much money you have! They are very cool though.
 
Makes sense. If you don't like it on one machine, simply swap it over to another. Some machine are better than others. Love AFM and WH20 with them
 
Cheers guys not properly priced them up yet but I'm guessing there will be about £100 difference? If I find a replacement how long would it last?

A colour DMD is £320, they are not cheap so if you want one choose wisely which machine you put it in. For South Park and Getaway you are looking at £640. As others have said Sean at Pinball Palace is the man for this, he will even programme the colour DMD for you before shipping it so you can just plonk it straight into the game. If you want to get a regular DMD to replace the dying one It will be much cheaper, but colour DMD's do look great...
 
But you can get replacement DMD's from Pinball Heaven for £180, or used ones usually sell for around £80.
 
You can colourize your DMD using SmartDMD and Dr Pinball's LCD-DMD kit.

Not as good as color dmd as you change the pallette rather than colour each frame but a hell of a lot cheaper.

Good call Carl, I have one in my Spiderman. I have a big issue with the price of ColorDMD's, hence why I only have 1 ( TSPP )
 
I'm looking at buying my first colour dot matrix. £357 though!! Pinball palace has an option for a coupon code though.. and it's black friday. Surely some good discount? ;)
